A Professional Instructor at Your Service
Language is my passion. Writing, acting, and teaching language are my means of artistic expression and interpersonal communication. Language brings people together but can tear them apart. The impact of language, its potency, and how to communicate effectively are the center of my educational and professional pursuits.
My family and I have lived in the Napa Valley for six generations. When I was eighteen I moved to Europe. Living abroad taught me to see the world through the eyes of different cultures. Not only did my vision of the world shift, but my vision of myself did as well. I discovered that learning new languages was not merely to learn new words or modes of communication; it was to learn whole new worlds entirely. Since high school I have traveled to over twenty countries and continue to visit new cultures each year.
I earned my Master of Arts in Spanish from California State University Sacramento and my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California. I have taught children through college level Spanish, Spanish mathematics, English, and bilingual classes. I have also taught Spanish onsite at wineries, cooperages, hospitals, and other public service organizations. My translation experience ranges from the wine industry to the medical world to legal documents and community service outreach.
My love of learning and language only increases with time. I am a lifelong student and am committed to leading people through the process of reaching their own language goals or to provide them a safe space to express themselves in another language through translation. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your language questions and needs. I would love to be a part of your experience.
